Jaypro Model PVBOH-880R Overhead Volleyball System shall be a turn-key solution for quick set-up competition volleyball. System shall consist of two independent, side folding, side braced masts allowing the entire volleyball system to fold into the ceiling (including referee stand, net, padding). The PVBOH-880R shall not need any type of floor anchoring system and is available for any facility with attachment heights between 24' and 32' above finished floor. The PVBOH-880R complies with NFHS regulations. If direction of fold is critical, direction of fold must be clearly specified.
System masts shall be fully welded and constructed from heavy wall 3-1/2" O.D. Sch 40 structural steel tube. Masts shall have a diagonal anti-sway braces of 2-3/8" O.D. 10-gauge structural steel tube welded together at the top with heavy duty 5" structural channel. Truss bracing shall be welded internal, forming a half-hip style mast truss. Masts shall be suspended from support structure using two heavy-duty adjustable forged eye bolts. Mast center line shall be offset 1" forward of hinged eye bolts ensuring that the unit weight locks securely and automatically into the playing position. Fully welded masts shall be supplied for attachment heights up to 32' in elevation.
System shall be braced to the side and shall fold up to the side. The brace shall be of 2-3/8" O.D. 12-gauge structural steel tube assembly. The brace assembly shall have a fully adjustable folding knuckle assembly allowing for exact positioning at installation and maintenance free operation. Knuckle shall be disengaged automatically by the tensioning of the hoist cable during the act of raising the system into the stored position.
System shall be raised and lowered by means of a UL listed, 3/4 HP 115 VAC 60Hz single-phase compensating type instantly reversible winch. Winch shall be capacitor start with built in thermal overload protection. Winch shall have precision ball bearings and sealed gear case for maintenance free operation. Winch shall be located on the same side as the referee stand and shall be Jaypro Model SBBW-4.
System shall be lifted with 1/4" diameter galvanized aircraft cable with 7000 lbs. ultimate break strength. Hoist cables shall be routed through 3-1/2" diameter swivel pulleys. Winch shall be provided standard with a three-position momentary contact key switch and polished wall plate. Switch shall fit into a device box supplied by others (3"x 2-1/4" x 2-1/2" H x W x D). Integral upper and lower limit switches shall control the upper and lower travel of the system. All wire and wiring to be supplied by others and installed by a qualified Electrical Contractor. Wiring to be in accordance with all national and local electrical codes.
System shall include dual Posilok Safety Straps to automatically lock the system in position at any time, should there be a malfunction of the hoisting apparatus, such as a winch, cable, pulley, support fitting, etc.
System shall be equipped with a referee stand that shall be permanently secured directly between one mast and volleyball upright. Referee stand shall be constructed of 2" x 6" 11-gauge stanchions with 1.66" O.D. surrounding handrails. Platform shall be approximately 24" x 36" and constructed of 1-1/2" square tubing frame with steel anti-skid diamond plate surface. Platform shall be located 3'-63/4" above playing surface ,allowing the referee maximum visibility of playing area. Referee stand shall be equipped with safety chain for fall protection. Access to referee stand shall be accomplished with a ladder bolted to the referee stand platform. Referee stand shall be fully welded and rated for 250 lbs. Location of referee stand must be clearly specified. Based on NFHS/NCAA rules, referee stand must be located opposite of the scorers table and player benches.
System shall be equipped with a Jaypro Powerlite International Infinite Height Adjustable Volleyball System. System shall consist of two uprights and one winch and shall be supplied fully assembled. Two piece telescoping uprights shall provide infinitely adjustable net height settings to achieve Official NFHS and NCAA Men's and Women's height requirements by means of an internal bevel gear design. Inner and outer section of the upright shall be constructed of heavy wall aluminum tube. Inner tube shall have engraved height markings for easy reference during set-up. Tensioning winch shall have an internal worm gear construction with an effective 10:1 turn ratio to eliminate snap-back. Winch shall be furnished with folding handle and 1-1/2" wide high tensile strength (7700 lbs) nylon strap with sewn snap buckle for complete cable-less design.
For player safety, system includes padding of all equipment in close proximity to field of play. Padding to extend to a minimum height of 6'-0" above the playing surface. Padding shall be 14oz vinyl wrapped 2" thick polyurethane foam. Referee stand shall include bolt-on edge padding to surround the platform and 14oz vinyl wrapped 2" thick cylindrical polyurethane foam for vertical columns and ladder protection.
System shall be furnished complete with the following components:
- Collegiate Volleyball Net (Refer to PVBN-3 Specification Sheet)
- Universal Official Net Antennae Pair (Refer to VBA-80 Specification Sheet) - Dual Posilok Safety Straps (Refer to PL-1000 Specification Sheet)
Entire system unit shall be powder coated black standard, with custom colors as an option. All metal fittings shall be packaged for protection during shipment. Custom colors include fully enclosed wrapping for added protection. Refer to Jaypro-PC for powder coat options.
The total overhead volleyball system shall be guaranteed against defects in material and workmanship for a period of one (1) year. Other components may be covered by their own extended warranty.
